Nursing Studies Nursing Studies

Overview

Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh offers a varied Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.

All courses combine professional relevance with academic rigour and have been designed so that participants can take them as free standing courses or, if they choose, accumulate credits towards an MSc/PGDip/PGCert Advancing Nursing Practice or MSc by Research (Nursing).

CPD course options

In the academic year 2011-12 we are offering five main course themes as CPD opportunities. These are:

Research Methods in Nursing and Healthcare

Professional and Personal Development

Clinical Decision Making and Professional Judgement

Leadership Across Different Healthcare Contexts

Health Promotion

Research scholarships

The Florence Nightingale Foundation invites applications for the 2013 Research, Travel and Leadership Scholarships. These scholarships provide a fantastic chance to engage in nursing and midwifery research activity, and provide up to £5000 in funding.
