Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh has a long standing tradition of providing nursing programmes for 50 years.
The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, as well as continuing professional development courses.
The undergraduate programme is a four year programme which leads to a Bachelor of Nursing degree and registration as a nurse (adult branch). There are also several postgraduate degree programmes from taught MSc/Diplomas to PhD.
Nursing Studies has retained 1st place again in the Guardian Good University Guide 2013. This is the 7th year running that Nursing Studies at Edinburgh has topped the tables.
Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh is also placed 1st in the Sunday Times Good University Guide and the Complete University Guide league tables.
Research published by Nursing Studies staff at the University of Edinburgh has contributed to an impressive result in the Research Assessment Exercise.
The overall performance of staff was found to be excellent with 65% of submitted publications rated as either 4 or 3 star. In comparison with other universities, this result places Edinburgh as 8th in the UK for their panel.
