Course description

This course gives a critical introduction to theoretical frameworks that underpin dementia care. It takes a holistic view of dementia aiming to develop a critical understanding that includes, but goes beyond the medical approach. Key components of the course are the critical implications of ageing social policy and the economic impact of dementia around the world.

Method of delivery and assessment

Teaching and learning will be online using a range of multi-media approaches including: formal written assignments, online presentations, wikis and reflective blogs. Students are expected to use the assignments to bring together theory, research, policy and evidence from practice to address the learning outcomes of each course.
