Counselling and PsychotherapyCounselling and Psychotherapy

Overview

Experience it, feel it, think it, reflect it, theorise it.

Our mission is to develop competent, reflective and critically-aware practitioners and researchers who are capable of improving the well-being of their communities and of contributing to our knowledge and understanding of counselling.

We believe effective learning is not just cognitive, but encompasses all aspects of self, including the visceral or embodied, the emotional, and the intellectual. Our approach to teaching and learning is based on this philosophy and encourages and supports students to examine their own experience before relating this to theory. Students on our programmes are facilitated to explore and develop their capacities to think critically and reflexively, to feel, and to be in relationship.
