This programme has a strong orientation towards the application of theory into practice. Students are asked to draw upon case examples that they know in some detail for various aspects of their coursework. Your personal statement helps us to assess whether your experience will equip you to complete the coursework.
Please document, in 250 words or less, the practical experience you have gained working in children and young people’s mental health. This experience may come from a range of settings and roles. You should include details of the following:
- What your job role involved (not simply the title)
- If your experience was gained outside of your main job, how many hours and over what period of time this experience was gathered
- The nature of contact with children and young people (e.g. observation, assessment, group work)
Please attach the statement to your application as a separate document, entitled 'personal statement'. Statements of more than 250 words will not be considered.
Applications are reviewed by the Programme Director. Applicants may be asked to interview by telephone or in person.
