Overview

The Biosafety Training Institute (BTI, formerly known as the Northern Biosafety Training Centre (NBTC)) has been developed by the University of Edinburgh as a centre of excellence, delivering accredited professional biosafety training courses to a specialist audience.

Initially targeted at biological and biomedical research workers in Universities, this training is available to anyone with an interest in health and safety within a biological or biomedical environment.

ISTR have accredited the course materials used by the BTI. Once attendees have completed all of the units provided in this course (and passed the assessment), they can become registered by ISTR as Level 1 Practitioners if they have two years' relevant experience.

For more information, please visit the Biosafety Training Institute (BTI) website.
