Internships
Gaining practical experience is essential for a career in international development.
Every year there will be opportunities to undertake dissertation research as part of planned internships with organisations in Scotland or Africa.
These will be assessed by the same criteria as the standalone dissertations.
These internships will generally last for two months and can be taken between April and August.
We are continually adding to our list of partnership organisations. You are also welcome to undertake placements within organisations to which they already have links.
Additional opportunities also exist to collaborate with University of Edinburgh staff in ongoing research projects.
Financial support
Although participating students will be expected to cover their own travel, accommodation and subsistence costs, our staff will help identify funding sources which may offer financial support.
