Work Place Projects
Gaining practical experience is essential for a career in international development. Every year there will be opportunities for several students across the development programmes to undertake dissertation research as part of planned work place projects with organisations in Scotland or in the Global South.
The placement will generally last for two months and can be taken between April and August. We are continually adding to our list of partnership organisations and students are also welcome to undertake placements within organisations to which they already have links. Although students will be expected to cover most of their expenses, there are several grants offered by Edinburgh University to which students can apply for this experience in the field.
