Postgraduate Research skills
Our research skills programme provides additional training opportunities for postgraduate students, to support their dissertation.
Training providers
Some of these training sessions will be run internally, by our academic staff, and others will be provided by external resources, including:
Most sessions take place on Wednesday afternoons.
Session topics
The sessions scheduled in semester one focus on writing skills and securing your dissertation topic.
During semester two and the dissertation period (April-August), the focus turns to qualitative and quantitative skills, managing your research project and supporting each other through the final stages of your dissertation.
Attendance
Attendance is recorded and your supervisors may request you attend particular skill training sessions to support your dissertation in semester 2.
