Tutoring and Demonstrating (T&D) posts are advertised on our postgraduate opportunities page.
Before the start of semester 1, in September, the Teaching Organisation (TO) will advertise available Tutoring and Demonstrating (T&D) posts for the coming academic year on the postgraduate opportunities page. Interested postgraduate students can register their interest in each post on this page.
If you have not carried out any T&D work for the School before, please first contact Alasdair Howie to register your interest.
Before you begin work, we need a form of identification, normally a passport. If you are not from the EU, we will also need your visa details.
Once we have your relevant ID, we will send it to the College of Science and Engineering Human Resources department, who will then generate a contract.
Each new contract is sent to the student via the TO. The contract must be completed and signed by the T&D and returned to the Human Resources department. T&Ds without a contract will not be paid, so it is imperative that these are completed and returned as soon as possible.
New T&Ds must attend a training course specifically arranged for the School of GeoSciences. This course is usually held in the weeks prior to the start of undergraduate semester 1. You will be given details of this course in advance.
Additional training materials are provided by the Institute of Academic Development.
