Programme Director

Dr Fiona Borthwick

Fiona is programme director of the Masters Food Security, and Lecturer in Environmental Management at the Scottish Agricultural College. Fiona gained her PhD in environmental science and policy from the Central European University, Hungary in 2010.

Research Fiona's research interests are broad, mainly focusing on the link between environmental management and security. Her PhD investigated the practical application of the link between environment and security adapted by international organisations particularly the United Nations. She has also carried out research concerning environmental justice in South Eastern Europe, as well as Environmental Impact Assessment. Currently Fiona is participating in research on co-operation between international organisation, environmental security, and higher education in agriculture.

Dr Cesar Revoredo-Giha

Cesar is senior food marketing economist and team leader in Food Marketing Research. He is an applied economist specialising in the industrial organization of food markets, international trade and econometrics.

Dr Kairsty Topp

Kairsty's interest lies in understanding the impact of changes in farm management in cropping / grassland systems on the environment, and in how an understanding of these issues can inform economic and social models of the farming system.
