Overview

The MSc in Exploration Geophysics involves two semesters of lectures followed by an individual research project.

The programme contains a significant degree of flexibility which allows students to specialise in an area of their interest. There are a number of core components in geophysics, wave theory, time-series analysis, rock physics and reflection interpretation which are taken by all students. A course in fundamental mathematics is required for those who do not have a strong quantitative background, while an introductory geology course is available for those with no experience of the subject. Students are able to choose options from the other MSc programmes offered by the School.

If you are a part-time student, you can discuss your individual programme of study with the Programme Director.
