Research
In 2008, the School maintained its track record of RAE success. Our ‘Earth Systems and Environmental Science’ was ranked first in the UK in terms of the volume of international and world leading research.
Teaching
Our students are highly sought-after by employers, with the University of Edinburgh rated 16th worldwide on this measure. Students in our School recorded an overall satisfaction level of 92% in this year's National Student Survey. Twenty-five of our staff were nominated for Teaching Excellence Awards. Our commitment to improving our teaching quality year on year is shown by steady increases in both of these metrics.
