Overview
The Pensions Office is responsible for administering the University of Edinburgh Staff Benefits Scheme, and for providing information on other pension schemes.
Independent financial advice
Some aspects of pensions are complex and members are presented with difficult decisions to make.
The Pensions Office can provide information about the schemes and options available to members but cannot provide financial advice.
Members who need financial advice are recommended to contact an independent financial adviser.
Pension schemes
Staff Benefits Scheme
The University of Edinburgh Staff Benefits Scheme (SBS) is open to staff on grades UE01 to UE05.
Universities Superannuation Scheme
Employees usually on grades UE06 to UE10 are offered membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).
Scottish Teachers' Superannuation Scheme
Teachers previously employed at the Moray House Institute of Education continue to be members of STSS.
Local Government Pension Scheme
Non-teaching staff previously employed at the Moray House Institute of Education continue to be members of LGPS.

Pensions+ is a salary sacrifice scheme which makes allows for savings in the amount of National Insurance contributions paid.
Pensions forms
Changes to scheme members' details should be made by returning the completed form to the Pensions Office.

The National Fraud Initiative is an exercise carried out by the Audit Commission which matches electronic data with and between audited bodies to prevent and detect fraud.
