About us
The Security Section is part of the Support Services Division within Estates and Buildings, and is based in 13 Infirmary Street.
The Section is headed by Chief Security Officer Adam Conn, assisted by a Deputy.
Accommodation Services are covered by a separate Security Team based at Pollock Halls, under Manager Keith Boyle
Our mission statement
Security is an important aspect of University life, and the University community should be fully committed to achieving the aims set out in the Security Policy. Staff and students need to work together to create and maintain a safe and secure environment.
Our aims and objectives
The University Security Service is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and works to:
- Establish a realistic assessment of the level of risk on campus
- Outline procedures to deal with reports of crime, threats and damage
- Identify trends and react quickly to remove or reduce risk
- Raise security awareness in the University community without engendering fear
