What we do, who we are and how to contact us.
We are a multi-disciplinary team based in 9-11 Infirmary Street. We consist of the following in house building design professionals.
- Architectural design staff
- Mechanical design engineers
- Electrical design engineers
- Space managers
- Data input staff
We are employed by the University to work on University projects and Space Management. Most of our projects are managed using an abbreviated version of the Scottish Funding Council's Capital project decision process and the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) plan of work.
We look after and administer the small capital projects programme within the University estate, spending roughly £3.5 million each year on small projects that allow the University to carry out teaching and research on a day-to-day basis.
This work is funded either through the small capital projects budget, financed by the University or funded projects through bequests or grants from third parties to fund specific projects such as research labs.
We also look after alterations to the University’s building stock in order to comply with legislation such as DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliance, and minor alterations to accommodate specific needs of new staff or students.
