The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary studies is a leading centre for Veterinary Medicine in Europe and is committed to support and develop veterinary oncology as a major discipline within the School.
The new Veterinary Oncology Centre building adjacent to the existing Hospital for Small Animals has been developed to provide radiotherapy and imaging facilities.
The facility is aimed to develop areas of comparative research between human and veterinary oncology in activity consistent with the thematic research objectives of the College’s Centre for Cancer Research.
The new-build facility is to provide diagnostic scanning service (CT scanner) for large and small animals applicable to all diseases and a new radiotherapy treatment facility (linear accelerator) for small animals.
The project was completed in April 2009.
