Learn about Edinburgh and Scotland and make new friends through our exciting programme of events.
ELTC runs a busy social programme during the summer months of July and August with a dedicated team of staff who ensure that students are able to make the most of opportunities to discover Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
ELTC continues to organise social activities and tours for students from September to June. Events are regularly organised to allow students to experience aspects of the local culture and to mix and practise their English with other ELTC students.
Social programme activities are regularly promoted and are available to all students on payment of the relevant fee.
A professional Scottish tour guide accompanies students on the full day and half day coach tours whilst a member of the ELTC social programme team attends other social programme events.
Destinations might include Tantallon Castle or Glenkinchie Distillery on the half day tour or St Andrews or Abbotsford House and the Borders on the full day tour.
These include half day guided walking tours, afternoon visits to galleries and museums and one hour talks about Scottish history and culture.
Note: These events may be photographed or recorded for promotional materials for the University.
