General information about DPEG

The Developmental Physical Education Group (DPEG) is based in our Institute for Sport, Physical Education & Health Sciences (SPEHS).

The Group works with teachers, physical activity professionals, students and politicians to create, deliver and evaluate the impact of a contemporary developmental PE programme for all children and young people.

Since 2001, following the development of Basic Moves for children aged 5-7 years, the focus of DPEG’s work has extended to include teaching, research, professional learning and writing across the 3-14 age range.
