Postgraduate research at the Moray House School of Education provides a challenging intellectual experience.
The School offers the degrees of MPhil and PhD by research in both full-time and part-time study and EdD by part-time study. The School's Advanced Research Methods Training Programme is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council.
The taught MSc/Diploma Educational Research programme offers advanced level training in core aspects of educational research. It can be taken either as a free-standing degree, or during the first year of doctoral study.
Full-time MPhil students are normally expected to complete their studies within 2 years of registration and part-time students within 3 years. Full-time PhD students would normally present their thesis within 4 years of full-time work or 6 years of part-time study. The EdD normally takes between 4 and 6 years to complete.
The Moray House School of Education staff are able to provide supervision on a wide range of topics within the fields of education and sports-related studies.
Courses on a range of research methods and analysis are available and research students may be required to undertake an appropriate programme of research training. Students are also encouraged to take an active part in the School's programme of research seminars and workshops.
