Returning to Teaching

Returning to Teaching course19 April - 21 June 2012, 6pm - 9pmMoray House School of Education, Paterson's Land
We welcome all qualified teachers who have been away from teaching for a number of years, or who have no classroom experience, or are new to the Scottish education system and who wish to return to the profession either full-time or as a supply teacher. If you are already in a supply post this may also be of value to you.

Additional Support for Learning

We have suite of Additional Support for Learning programmes which is carefully designed to meet the professional needs of all teachers and similar professionals. Programmes are offered in part time study mode. A three course certificate can be completed in one or two years and a six course diploma in two to four years. The programme may also be continued to Masters level.

Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH)

The School of Education has made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of the Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH). Froebel

Froebel Course29 October 2011 - 16 May 2012To take place mainly in Moray House's Paterson's Land Building
This course considers how a contemporary analysis of Froebels work can provide practitioners with insights into how they can support young children to develop as confident learners. The course will run in the evenings and weekends at Moray House School of Education and includes some visits to Edinburgh Nurseries (for more information please see the timetable). The timetable may need to be altered slightly but everyone will be informed in advance. The total number of contact CPD hours will be 30 hours. This course has 2 assignments.

Specially designed courses

The Moray House School of Education is involved in the design and delivery of many specially designed short courses and consultancy activity for schools, authorities and industry. Many of these are planned in response to specific requests from employers and agencies.
