Our Performance Costume programme is one of the few in the country that teaches costume making alongside costume design.
A comprehensive curriculum provides you with an excellent knowledge of costume design and costume-making for stage, screen and live performance. The different strands are:
Project briefs will allow you to integrate all elements and you will interpret and respond creatively to text, character, movement and music.
Emphasis is placed on the development of skills in research, criticism, analysis and communication.
We encourage our students to be innovative, individual, adaptable designers and we support this with a thorough understanding of cutting techniques, materials, history of costume, illustration and embroidery.
