Welcome to the webpages for Edinburgh College of Art's (ECA) Innovative Learning Week events and activites!
During the University's first Innovative Learning Week, 20 - 24 February 2012, normal teaching slots will be suspended and in their place will be a range of activities for students.
Here in ECA we have a wide range of events available ranging from practical experimentation with materials through to lectures exploring perspectives on beauty and topics on sustainability. There are exciting opportunities for practical collaboration with fellow students across the University and to get engaged in live communication and design projects to have a real impact on communities outwith the University setting. Browsing our events you'll also see that a loose theme of engaging with different perspectives on beauty runs through a lot of our programmes this year.
Some of our activities are for ECA students only or specific disciplines within ECA; others are open not just to ECA but to students across the University. We hope that as many students as possible will participate in what should be a very lively and enjoyable week.
Schools across the University are scheduling and hosting events open to all students, so do feel encouraged to look at what is available and take advantage of the opportunities. A link to further details and links to other Schools' Innovative Learning Week webpages is available below.
