History of Art at Edinburgh is home to a friendly and welcoming postgraduate community.

Regular social events are organised within History of Art, as well as regular research seminars and conferences, some of which are student-run. We also have a Facebook page for the postgraduate community, which can help new students to meet others in the History of Art subject area.
Postgraduate students in History of Art are all part of the wider Graduate School of Edinburgh College of Art. With postgraduate students in the sister departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Art, Design and Music, they form part of a vibrant and exciting student community.
The Graduate School has extensive information for current postgraduates, including information about claiming postgraduate expenses, inter-library loans and accommodation services.
The University of Edinburgh has an extensive section of information for all current students, including information about finances and fees, student services and visa services for international students.
The University has a number of dorms and apartments around the city, and international postgraduates are usually prioritised in being given University accommodation. For students who do not wish to or are not able to live in University accommodation, Edinburgh has a large private rental market with apartments and houses of all kinds. The University of Edinburgh’s Accommodation Services are able to help with both University and private accommodation rentals.
