Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh will award a number of scholarships from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for research study commencing September 2012.

Applicants are advised that they must have applied via the University online applications system ( EUCLID), and hold an offer of admission to be considered for an AHRC award. PhD applicants may also be current PhD students at the University of Edinburgh.

Applicants for PhD funding should also enclose a research proposal.

Deadline for applications

The deadline for AHRC scholarship applications is 13 April 2012.

Scholarship applications will be shortlisted and presented as nominations by panels in the relevant subject areas and then checked by the University AHRC panel. Selection panels will follow the AHRC's Guide to Student Recruitment and Nomination.

There is in addition 1 AHRC PhD scholarship available from Film Studies (School of Literatures, Languages, and Cultures) deadline 15 February 2012 which may be joint-supervised between Film Studies and History of Art, and is open to students studying contemporary art and film or contemporary artists who are film-makers. Applicants are advised that they must have applied for admission to the PhD via the University online applications system (EUCLID).
