The SIRE BIC ‘Theory’ conference was held on Saturday 6 October 2012 at the University of Edinburgh.
Guest speakers included Klaus Schmidt (Munich) and Olivier Compte (PSE) with additional contributions by S. Sánchez-Pagés (U. Barcelona/UoE), M. Costa-Gomes (Aberdeen), M. Mueller-Frank (Oxford), N. Vikander (UoE), G. Gerasimou (St. Andrews) and P. Kircher (UoE). The closing remarks were offered by John Moore.

The School will host a major conference on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of March 2013. A dozen of UK researchers from different disciplines will introduce their "discipline-specific" approach to the study of dietary choices (targeted at a general academic audience) and present an overview of their relevant research findings. The Review of Economic Studies Meetings have been held annually in May since 1989. Every year, in line with the Review’s tradition of encouraging the work of young economists, seven of the most promising graduating doctoral students in economics and finance in the world are selected to present their research to audiences in Europe.
This year, for the first time, the UK visit of the tour was held in Edinburgh on the 9th and 10th of May 2013.
Standard seminar presentations were given over two days to audiences invited by the local hosts and which include members of the journal’s editorial board.
