Overview
Theology has been taught in Edinburgh since the foundation of the University in 1583.
New College boasts the largest single-site theological library in the UK and has been ranked as one of the country's best Divinity programmes. We offer both taught and research degrees in many areas of theology and religious studies and embrace a wide variety of religious affiliations.
Postgraduate research
We offer two types of research degrees at the Masters level, as well as a PhD programme.
Postgraduate taught
There are six Masters degrees and a Graduate Diploma offered in our taught programme.
Student exchanges
During their second year of doctoral study, postgraduates typically go on exchange to access library facilities and to improve their language skills.
