Part-time senior lecturer and Programme Director for Healthcare Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care, NHS Education for Scotland (NES).
I spent time in hospitals as a junior doctor and then several years experience in parish ministry and hospital chaplaincy (including the supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate students on pastoral placements), before joining New College firstly as a full-time member of staff and now as a part-time senior lecturer. My current role in the health service involves facilitating the education of all healthcare disciplines in spiritual care across Scotland as well as the strategic development of Scottish healthcare chaplaincy. This includes Scottish Government funded research into the significance of spiritual listening services in primary care and patient related outcome measures.
