We are delighted that Professor Mona Siddiqui was presented with her OBE, for services to inter-faith relations, by The Prince of Wales during an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, London, 9 February 2012. Professor Mona Siddiqui was also named in the Glasgow Herald's "Scotland's top 50 influential women of 2012".

The School of Divinity is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Mark Harris as Lecturer in Science and Religion. He officially begins in April and will be teaching in our new MSc in Science and Religion.

Starting with Professor James Cox talking about "the Phenomenology of Religion, it will be featurean new interview every Monday with a major scholar on an aspect of contemporary social-scientific study of religion.Big names coming up, includie Graham Harvey, Armin Geertz and Linda Woodhead, talking about the topical issues, novel approaches and important scholars and methodologies of Religious Studies in the 21st Century.
Mark R. Gornik, who earned his PhD from the School of Divinity in 2008, has received an award from Christianity Today magazine in the USA for the outstanding title in the category of Missions/Global Affairs published in 2011.
The School of Divinity at the University of Edinburgh intends to appoint three Chancellor's Fellows in the coming months, with the aim of having the positions start in September 2012. These prestigious awards are aimed at early career scholar-teachers of the highest potential who have begun to establish a reputation for research at the forefront of their discipline and who have a commitment to teaching at the university level. The Fellowship will be held for 5 years, subject to satisfactory review at the end of year 3, and the Fellow will then move to a standard University academic open-ended contract.
The School of Divinity was saddened to learn of the death, on 12 September 2011, of one of our distinguished alumna and a long-term friend of New College, Dr Mary Levison.

Congratulations to Anderson Jeremiah, appointed Lecturer in World Christianity in the department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University. He earned his PhD in the School of Divinity in 2009, working in the Centre for the Study of World Christianity.
