Croall Lectures 2011
The Croall lectures 2011 will be given by Professor Bruce McCormack and will take place in January 2011 entitled "Abandoned by God: The Death of Christ in Systematic, Historical, and Exegetical Perspective" in the Martin Hall at New College at 4pm.
- 17 January - The Decline of Protestantism and the Perils of Penal Substitution
- 18 January - The Incarnation as Saving Event: Theories Which Order the Work of Christ to a Metaphysical Conception of His Person
- 20 January - Let Justice and Peace Reign: Theories Which Fail Adequately to Integrate the Person and Work of Christ
- 24 January - After Metaphysics: Theories Which Order the Person of Christ to His Work
- 25 January - The Cry of Dereliction: The Death of Jesus in Eschatological Perspective
- 27 January - The Lord of Glory was Crucified: Reformed Kenoticism and Death in God
Professor McCormack is also offering a seminar on the afternoon of Friday 21st January at 2.00pm in the Baillie Room in New College. All staff and students are welcome to this seminar, which will continue with the themes of the Croall lectures and will include some lecture material on T. F. Torrance originally planned for inclusion in the second lecture.
The seminar will offer people further opportunity to interact with the material from the first three lectures, to explore the Torrance material in some detail, and to raise questions of their own in an informal environment.
