Our staff
Our staff are all fully qualified in all aspects of childcare, so that you can have complete confidence in the level of care we provide.
The Team
We are a happy and experienced team of 20. With lengths of service of over 20 years experience we can provide stability and continuity for the children in our care. Our staff are:
- 16 qualified nursery nurses
- 2 nursery assistants
- a part-time cook
- a part-time secretary
The Nursery management team consists of:
- Rhona Connell (Manager)
- Morag Waterston (Deputy Manager)
- Pamela Scholan (Senior Nursery Nurse)
- Elise Brown (Senior Nursery Nurse)
Qualifications
All our staff are:
- approved through Disclosure Scotland
- registered with the Scottish Social Services Council
- approved through the University’s Occupational Health Department
- fully qualified with an appropriate childcare qualification
- qualified paediatric First Aiders
- trained Fire Stewards
Staff training and development
Each year, the staff members have 3 in-service days where outside agencies tutor them on various topics.
Our partnership with Edinburgh Council means we also have the opportunity to attend relevant courses run by the council.
We ask that all staff participate in training throughout the year as we view this as a high priority area to enhance the quality of service we provide.
