Our garden
For a centrally-located nursery, we have a surprisingly large garden which provides great learning and play opportunities for our children.
The children have free access to the garden all year round and are supervised at all times.
The garden has wide paths to allow for wheeled toys and large grass areas which become an outside playroom. It is divided into a number of areas, each with their own identity:
- a Fairy Garden to inspire imaginative play
- a Sensory Garden - sights, sounds and smells to stimulate the senses!
- a Vegetable Garden to help the children learn about how plants grow and develop
- a barked "Adventure Playground" helps improves confidence, strength, coordination and balance
- a Herb Garden - smells and tastes which can improve our cooking
- a Quiet Bower which is ideal for a magical story time
For toddlers and babies
There is a smaller secure garden for the younger children, with direct access from their playroom.
Newly toddling babies enjoy the fresh air and opportunities to explore the outside world.
