The University and the City of Granada, in Andalucia, Spain, are hosting the First International and Second National Conference on Social Action and Working Conditions in Public Administrations, in November 2010. In this context, public administrations includes the education sector.
Alastair Reid (representing the University of Edinburgh) and Donald Blue (representing the Scottish Funding Council's CHASTE Project) have both been honoured to accept invitations to serve as international members on the Organising Committee for this conference, which is presided over by Mr. Francisco González Lodeiro, Chancellor of the University of Granada.
This conference looks to be an ambitious venture which will hold much interest for health and safety practitioners across a wide range of public sector employers - the Preliminary Programme, available on the conference website, indicates that issues considered will also overlap with what would, in the UK, be considered as the area of Employment Law, and so will be of interest to colleagues in Human Resources, and relevant areas of Law.
