Getting started section
This section, colour-coded in orange, contains resources you can use to start your career planning.
The folders provide general career planning information and advice, as well as specific information for each subject area. This is a good place to start if you are undecided about what career to pursue and are looking for ideas.
The books range from general careers guides to self-assessment books that will help you to identify and analyse your skills, interests and personality type, and help you use this self-knowledge during the career planning process.
Some examples of resources
- The 'Options' series gives very useful general information about what you can do with your degree.
- Use the destinations information to find out what students from your course went on to do after graduation.
- Try Prospects Planner'or the TARGETjobs Careers Report, web-based careers guidance systems which generate career ideas based on your personal profile.
- Our 'Career planning programme' is a great way to get started.
