Programme of talks

As well as talking to the exhibitors and using the drop-in CV and advice clinic at this fair, you can also come along to one (or more!) of the talks that will be running.

The talks take place in the basement theatre and last approximately 30 minutes.

Being well prepared is the key to interview success…but what does this actually involve? This session will help you prepare to shine. It will address what recruiters look for, how to anticipate the questions you are likely to be asked, how to show your enthusiasm and demonstrate that you are an ideal candidate for the job.

In this competitive job market creative approaches to job hunting are more important than ever before. This introductory session will provide an overview of sources of graduate job vacancies and will also look at ways to uncover opportunities in the ‘hidden job market’ including networking and speculative applications.

Working in the UK After Your Studies: An update on current visa regulations for International Students Thursday 23 May 2013, 3pm - 3.30pm
This talk will be delivered by International Advisers from the Careers Service and the International Office who will provide an update on the points based system for immigration and will explain the options for obtaining a working visa for students hoping to remain in the UK after graduation.
