Meet the team
Throughout the College of Science & Engineering, schools and courses have a named careers adviser who has prime responsibility for:
- developing contacts within the department
- delivering careers guidance to individual undergraduate and postgraduate students
- providing support in the delivery of career development learning activities.
We have a dedicated service based in the Weir Building at King’s Buildings. In addition, careers advisers from the team work at the Buccleuch Place office to provide support to students from these colleges studying in the central area.
Carol Macdonald
Carol works with Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Informatics and Software Engineering.
Deborah Fowlis
Deborah works with Chemical Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Medicinal and Biological Chemistry.
Matt Vickers
Matt works with Civil Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Susan Bird
Susan works with Biochemistry, Biology with Management, Biotechnology, Conservation and Ecological Management, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Genetics, Geography, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Plant Science and Zoology.
