The Study China Programme is designed to give UK Undergraduates a brief but diverse introduction to Chinese language and culture. It has been running since 2007 and sends over 400 students per year on an experience of a lifetime.
The purpose of the programme is to encourage students to study abroad and to improve relationships and understanding between the UK and Chinese people, business and culture.
To be able to form a long-lasting relationship with China you need to have some grasp of the language. Thirty hours of Chinese language classes will give you a head start. The programmes take place in the Easter and Summer vacation periods and are packed with exciting and interesting activities.
It is designed to give you a realistic experience of what life is like in China and to enable you to meet Chinese people.
Previous programmes have included amongst other things: - Tai Chi, calligraphy and kite making classes, weekends away in a mountain village, work experience on an archaeological dig, Beijing Opera, amazing acrobatics shows and tea house/museum visits.
All the costs of the programme and your accommodation are covered by the UK government education departments. You just have to pay for your flights, food, visas and travel insurance.
