Want to help communities and transform lives? Want to develop your CV and network with business executives? Want to gain practical key-skills?
SIFE is an international non-profit organisation active in more than 1,500 universities across 40 countries.
A SIFE team is currently being started here at the University of Edinburgh. Students can join and develop community projects that will improve the quality of life for people in need. SIFE teams apply business concepts and teach personal skills to improve the quality of life and standard of living of others.
Projects can range from helping a young entrepreneur draw up an effective business plan, or teaching the homeless how to run a small business, through to international projects that will change the lives of an entire community. SIFE students also develop their leadership, project management and business skills, as well as a sense of service and responsibility to the community.
SIFE teams present the results of their projects at an annual National Championship, where leading business executives judge which team has achieved the most impact that year. The National Champion team then represents their country at the SIFE World Cup!
