E-Placement Scotland is a new initiative to help students with IT skills to find paid IT related work placements. An IT related degree discipline is not always required.
Placements offered can be either full-time or part-time and last from three months to a year. Summer jobs and part-time semester opportunities are available.
A wide range of roles have been advertised in addition to software development. Recent opportunities include a marketing assistant in a web design agency, an information services position and an HR placement with an electronics firm.
Most opportunities currently offered are based in Edinburgh or elsewhere in central Scotland. Firms participating include: Amazon, Mimtech and Wolfson Microelectronics.
