International study is a great way to experience life abroad and gain new qualifications. Making sense of the options can be complicated, but give yourself plenty of time to research and you are likely to find a course that is right for you.

Study abroad as part of your degree

The International Office has comprehensive information on international exchanges and the Erasmus programme. Both involve spending time abroad as part of your degree. Students of most subjects are eligible to participate in exchange programmes.

Further study abroad

If you are considering postgraduate study abroad, it is essential to give yourself plenty of time to research courses, universities and funding. Try to begin your research at least 18 months before your chosen course of study commences.

Our 'Further study' pages provide information on how to research courses, relevant talks and events, and how to identify sources of funding.
