Statement of Service for employing organisations
Our links with employing organisations are essential in delivering services to students. Find out about our aims on this page.
The Careers Service aims to equip matriculated students and recent graduates of The University of Edinburgh to make informed career decisions throughout their lives and achieve a successful transition on graduation to a satisfying future.
Working together as partners
We are keen to work with you to ensure we keep each other informed about developments in the higher education sector, in the labour market and in your organisation.
We subscribe to the AGCAS/Association of Graduate Recruiters/NUS Code of Best Practice in Recruitment.
The services we provide to you include:
- consultancy on contacting and recruiting our students and graduates
- advertising your vacancies on our website with a link to your site, and also distributing your posters and displaying literature
- facilities for interviewing and psychometric testing on campus all year round
- help with publicising presentations on campus and in local venues
- liaison with academic schools and subject areas
- opportunity to attend one of our four fairs to enable you to meet face to face a large number of our students and graduates
- a range of opportunities to raise your profile through participation in our interactive skills and careers information sessions, and through sponsorship of events, publications and advertising on our website
Quality of service
We aim to provide a high quality of service to all employing organisations. You can expect contact with staff who are helpful, professional and responsive to your needs.
In return, we would ask you to:
- give us adequate notice when you wish to use our services or if you need to cancel an event
- treat our students equally regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, disability or age
