Although students have the opportunity to prepare their own meals, self-catered is a very flexible option; they can also choose to eat elsewhere if they wish, both on and off campus.
Cooking facilities in bedrooms are generally not permitted in University flats and residences for reasons of safety.
Occasionally, private lodgings may be found which have cooking facilities in the student’s room, but this is now very unusual.
Those with a need for a special diet are recommended to apply for self-catered accommodation.
