Bathroom facilities
Shared bathroom/standard bathroom
Any bathroom facility (including toilets, baths and/or showers) shared by two or more students.
This is a common type of arrangement in all types of accommodation.
En-suite bathroom
Individual bathroom facilities, generally comprising of sink, toilet and shower, located in the student’s bedroom, for his or her exclusive use.
Around 35% of University bedrooms for new students now have en-suite facilities.
Baths and showers
Baths and/or showers are available in all types of University accommodation.
All en-suite bathrooms are equipped with showers, rather than baths.
Residences and flats where bathroom facilities are shared between a number of residents have either baths, showers, or often both.
It is our policy to substantially increase the proportion of accommodation with access to shower facilities.
