Overview
There are several ways of paying for your University of Edinburgh accommodation.
Whichever you choose, we aim to make the payment process as simple as possible.
Rent payment
It is a condition of accepting your offer of accommodation that you provide the University with an approved payment method, there are several ways of paying for your accommodation depending on how your offer of accommodation is made to you.
Completing payment mandates
Here we provide guidance on what each instruction is, how to fill out these mandates and explanation of some of the terminology used on the forms.
Payment collection dates
Once you have accepted your accommodation and provided us with the payment method you wish to pay by an instalment plan will be set up on your account.
Changing your payment method
If you wish to change the bank account details or recurring credit card details it is vital you complete a new instruction and contact the Student Credit Control Section.

Accommodation bursaries
The University of Edinburgh will offer up to 90 bursaries to first year undergraduates UK Students who will be living in University accommodation during the 2010-2011 academic sessions.
Problems with payments
Students who are experiencing financial difficulties in paying accommodation fees should seek help at the earliest opportunity.
Failure to make payment
Students who have opted to set up an instalment plan to pay their accommodation by either Direct Debit or Recurring Credit Card, will have their payments applied for on or shortly after the 10th of the month.

Problems can arise without our knowledge, but we welcome the opportunity to put matters right and resolve your complaint within a timely manner.
