Couples-Domestic provision and housekeeping

Couples in our University self-catered flats are provided with various facilities and furnishings.

Bedrooms

Furnishings

All bedrooms are carpeted. Subject to flat layout they are generally equipped with the following furniture:

Standard double bed
Bedside cabinet
Chest of drawers
Wardrobe
Desk and study chair
Waste paper bin

Bedding

Bedding, bedlinen and towels are not provided in couple flats. You will therefore need to supply these items yourself (such as a duvet, duvet cover, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, sheets and towels).

Communal facilities and services

Kitchen and living area facilities

University flats offer self-catering accommodation and the kitchens - except at Southbridge - are equipped with the following items:

Four-ring electric cooker with oven and grill
Microwave
Set of three saucepans, frying pan and chopping board
Kettle
Fridge/Freezer
Vacuum cleaner
Basin
Dish drainer
Mop and mop bucket
Sweeping brush and shovel
Ironing board (no iron provided)
Kitchen bin

Southbridge has more limited kitchen provision:

Two-ring cooker
Microwave
Fridge
Vacuum cleaner, available on a shared basis

Cutlery and crockery are NOT provided in any of the couple flats.

Subject to the flat layout, communal areas may be provided with the following furniture:

Kitchen table and chairs
Sofa or easy chairs

Laundry

Students in all our self-catered flats have access to laundry facilities. A coin operated laundry is within easy reach.

Cleaning and housekeeping

There is no cleaning service provided at our couple accommodation.
