Following the recent decision to merge the College of Art with the University, College students who meet the qualifying criteria are now guaranteed an offer of accommodation at the University for academic year 2011-12. In essence, this guarantee applies to all new full-year UGs and all new full-year international [non EU] PGs. However, it is important that you apply [on-line] by a certain date and have an unconditional firm [UF] place to study at the University also by a certain date.
Information on guarantees, timelines and general information about our accommodation (including descriptions and costs) are all explained here ...
Please note that we shall not be making any offers of accommodation to applicants until at least the end of July; this because of the changes necessary to certain systems in the run-up to the merger on 01 August 2011.
Our on-line systems have worked very successfully over a number of years for many tens of thousands of new students at the University. If you do require any additional help, you are welcome to contact our Accommodation Allocations team, based at Pollock Halls; the office is open Monday - Friday, 0900 - 1700 and can be contacted by phone on +44 (0)131 651 2042 or via email at accom.allocations@ed.ac.uk
If you are part of a group of existing ECA students returning next year, you may be interested in our 'Student Homes' service which advertises University owned and managed flats for such groups of students who wish to share. Unfortunately, most availability for 2011-12 has now gone but you can always check our on-line service direct on our Student Homes web site ...
