Students must adhere to the University's Code of Discipline.
Every student of the University is required to adhere at all times to those University regulations, policies and codes of practice which relate to student behaviour, and is expected to ensure that they are aware of these. When a student fails to observe University rules and regulations, disciplinary action may be taken against them through the procedures set out in the University’s Code of Discipline.
The number of discipline cases involves a very small proportion of the student population. For 2012-13, the figure was around one per cent.
The University collates statistics on student discipline according to the academic year in which the offence was reported, that is 1 August to 31 July. Statistics are available for the past eight years.
Statistics for the current academic year (2013/14) will be published on 9 October 2014.
