Definition

Providing continuing development opportunities for all staff that contribute to the student learning experience.

This is informed by and aligned with a culture of enhancement, and with the identified needs and aspirations of students.

Also, providing institutional recognition for staff achievements in this context.

Examples of how this Indicator of Enhancement is embedded in the University’s reflection, procedures and activities:

new teaching staff are contractually required to participate in the orientation to the Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching and further courses
Postgraduate Certificate open to all staff with teaching responsibilities or who play a significant role in supporting learning, teaching and assessment
teaching excellence included in promotion criteria for academic staff
