As an independent, self-governing body, the University has primary responsibility for the academic standards and quality of its teaching and learning.
Quality assurance structures reflect the governance structure of the University. Within the University-wide regulatory framework of policies and procedures, colleges have devolved powers which include responsibility for overseeing quality assurance at a local level.

At each of the school, college and University levels, there is a committee with key reponsibilities for quality assurance.
