Magda Mekky

Teaching Fellow (MPH online)

Background

Magda Mekky is a Teaching Fellow for the online Master of Public Health Programme. She completed her MSc in Public Health Research from the University of Edinburgh in 2005 with a dissertation on the genetic epidemiology of melanoma. In 2009, she completed additional specialized public health training through the Canadian Field Epidemiology Program (CFEP) administered by the Public Health Agency of Canada. She has worked in various fields related to health including clinical trial regulatory affairs, clinical epidemiology, and outbreak management at the federal level (Canada). Magda was the epidemiology lead for the Family Health Division at a local public health unit in Ontario before joining the MPH Online programme in 2015. Her interests include maternal and child health research and public health communication.
